Birthdays

Both my children's birthdays are coming up in July, Jess will be 13, and Oskar will be 8. I was flicking though the photos, and found this one from Oskar's birthday last year. It's a construction scene, and the kids loved it. Very simple, as me not being a cake decorator, it didn't matter if it was too messy. And they get to keep the trucks etc.

My daughter is planning a sleepover with some friends. I have given her the studio for the night, as it's very big, and plenty of room for sleeping bags. They can have the sterio up full bore, and the movies going all night, and noone will hear them. That sounds good to me.

I'm Back

Sorry you missed me. I have been so busy with school holidays, and starting with a personal trainer, and working outside, that I have not had time to blog, as I really haven't done anything of interest. We live on acreage, which is mostly bush, and we are trying to make some of it more inhabitable for humans. I love the wildlife around here, but I need to tidy up. So that's what I have been doing, and it is hard, heavy, and dirty work, but it sure gets the body going in this very cold winter we are having. Many days here it doesn't get over 8 or 9 C, and starts out around 2-3 C Burrr, I would love to live in Queensland. Maybe one day.

This is a photo of my daughter, playing soccer for her school, she plays goaley, and is very good. I thought I would add some world cup flavour to the blog, GO AUSSIES!!!! GO SOCCEROOS!!!! Posted by Picasa

Star block

Well my first hand pieced block is finished. It measures 14" on point. I am very pleased with the result. I am thinking of trying the Lone Star block, but I have also designed some mariners compass blocks, so maybe those first. I love they colours of this block, they are more vibrant then they appear here.

A little change

Sorry I have been so slack on my blog, I really haven't had much to write about. I have started handpieceing at night, and this is the first block. I haven't done much hand pieceing, but it is enjoyable, and I think it looks great. They are all my own fabrics, and I think they go very well together. I will have to get some more dyes, si I can make up some more fabric, (Now how did I make these again???) eeekkk.

On Saturday I went to the gym, as I am most days, but this time I ran slower, kept my heart rate around the 75-80% and I ran three kms, in 23 minutes, I was so excited. I have never really been a runner, but unless you do it, you don't get any better. Posted by Picasa
