New bag and some knitting

I have gone knitting crazy, spent lots on wool, and have made my first sock, see below. It was fiddly but fun. I also made a beanie, a little small, bugger, but will pass off to a friend with a small daughter.
This is a bag I made today. Here in Australia there is alot of fuss about plastic shopping bags, and the government has planned that by 2009, shops will charge for plastic bags. You can buy cheap bags $1 each for your shopping, but they are really ugly, So I am making some.
This is the prototype, it's 12" square. It will get alot of shopping into it, and is machine washable. It is quilted and fully lined, with strong handles. Also 100% cotton. Should anyone be interested in purchasing these bags, please email me. Any colour or pattern available, only limited by fabric choices.

New pattern

I designed this pattern a few months back, really last year sometime. I found the pieces of paper when I was looking for something in some boxes. So I decided to have a play, using some of my hand dyed fabrics.

The first one I made a few weeks ago, I started to sew on the border, but never got any further, as I only had a small amoutn of the orange, so until I get more dye powder, it's a one off.

The second one I made on Tuesday, with the new fabric I dyed on the weekend. I have attached a centrepiece, I am not sure how this will look as a full four block piece, I will have a play with photoshop, and see what comes out.

Stunning sunrise

Craig took this photo the other morning, how beautiful. We get some glorious coloured skies here inMelbourne, and this was certainly no exception.
Yesterday was Jessie's 13th birthday, Wow where did those years go!?
She was spoilt rotten, and you couldn't get the smile off her face all day, it was fabulous. We spent the day looking for the perfect pair of rollerblades, which we found. She had to get a mens pair, as her feet are
quite large, poor kid. But she is going to be very tall too, so she need big feet to hold her up.

I plan to hit the studio this morning, will have to see if that comes to fruition, got appointments, and must take my HP handheld diary thingy in to be fixed, as it shut down yesterday, and I had to reboot it to get it working, bugger of a thing. It's terrible when you can't find your information, and where you are supposed to be. But I got it working, and will note down my appointments, and send it to be checked....grrrrr.
